Mt Baw Baw

February 26, 2012

A weekend spent at Frosti Lodge for a friend's 40th. Frosti, we've discovered, is the species name for the Baw Baw Frog, sadly now almost extinct. On the drive up here, we saw plenty of Swamp Wallabies and loads of birds on the road between Piedmont and Tanjil Bren, including Satin Bowerbird, Bassian Thrush and Wonga Pigeons. One group even saw a Superb Lyrebird.

On Saturday, we did one of the circular walks around the mountain top. The weather was lovely and there were butterflies everywhere.
